Giving Up Marriage

Is it ever a healthy thing for a person to give up marriage after having to end a bad marriage? I know two people right now. Both got out of horrible marriages after a lengthy stay in them (one of them revealing that she had been abused for the better part of eight years without telling anybody), and now both are in new relationships.

However, they have said that they will not marry again, one going so far as to say if the man she is dating ever proposes to her she will dump him.

This has raised some red flags with me, and I am wondering if this is unhealthy on an emotional or psychological level, or if this is something that would be normal in lieu of what they have gone through (normal being something that shouldn't be getting my attention.)
Having faith even when all hope seems lost is the key to achieving your dreams.

Have you tried going through marriage therapy or counseling? You should go into any therapy with the only goal being to save your marriage. This could help you with your thoughts about your marriage.
