DAILY FIX
Welcome to the club, Jack. As you can probably guess by the amount of "enhancement" products being advertised on TV these days, Jack's problem is all too common among mid-life men. But that doesn't mean he needs a prescription solution. Erectile Dysfunction (ED) can have a myriad of causes. Here are a few things Jack can try before having to go down the “blue pill” road.
First, Jack needs to examine his medicine cabinet and then read about any potential sexual side effects his medications maybe causing. Some medicines can cause impotency as a side-effect. If he finds one like this, Jack should contact his doctor and ask about any alternative medicines that won't cause male potency issues.
If his current medicines are not the problem, then perhaps it Jack's anxiety or stress level. A lot of guys don't realize that everyday stresses can increase their chances of being impotent. This is even true for guys in their 20s and 30s. Find ways to decrease your stress and it could, perhaps, increase the odds of being able to do the one activity that is likely to really decrease your stress.
So how do you decrease stress? Exercise more, take that overdue vacation, go for walks, get more sleep, attend church, meditate -- whatever it takes to relax and wind down. You might even talk to your doctor about anti-anxiety medications if your stress level is bad enough to cause impotence. Whatever you do, you need to understand that stress to the point of sexual health problems can cause even more drastic health problems in the future.
If relaxation isn't the solution, then Jack should research natural aphrodisiacs. They sound like old folk tales, but there is some truth to it. Jack can go to health food stores or any place that sells herbal supplements to ask for products that improve sexual health. But do your homework; don't just buy some product because it has a snazzy infomercial with lots of busty women singing its praises. And remember than any supplement you ingest needs to be treated like a prescription medication: consult your doctor first and be sure to follow the instructions and warnings on the label.
No matter which option he chooses, Jack should make it a daily ritual. Just exercising for a single day or trying aphrodisiacs one time isn't going to fix the problem. He has to be patient and go day-to-day trying to improve things.
If nothing else works, then the best thing Jack can do is get an appointment with his doctor and ask about medical avenues to fixing the problem. Jack doesn't need to be embarrassed -- medical professionals keep strict secrecy for their patients and deal with these types of cases every day. If a pill or procedure is prescribed, Jack can at least be thankful that modern medicine has a cure for his problem, and in most cases it leads to a very happy ending.
